Colleen Brock has enjoyed an exciting and rewarding career as a professional makeup artist in New York City for more than 20 years. Her love and passion for makeup artistry has taken her down many avenues. While in high school and studying for her cosmetology license, she began her professional career as a free-lance makeup artist working for Shiseido Cosmetics in Macy's Herald Square. In this dynamic environment, she learned the vital skills of makeup application, skin care and cosmetic sales. She also acquired extensive experience working on Asian faces, learning the best color choices and techniques for their unique style of makeup, and still enjoys the privilege of working with Asian women.
Colleen worked throughout college for various cosmetic companies including Estee Lauder, where she free-lanced as a promotional makeup artist for 10 years. Here she received intense training and worked on skin tones reflecting all types of ethnic backgrounds. Fellow makeup artists often would refer clients to Colleen because of her expertise in exotic skin tones and features.
Rising to the top of her field, she free-lanced as a makeup artist for leading cosmetic companies such as Chanel, Lancôme, Christian Dior and Stila, in NYC's most prestigious department stores, including Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman, and Barney's New York.
Now Colleen is concentrating exclusively on her artistry by doing makeup for print, TV and film. Many industry professionals seek out Colleen's expertise for models' portfolio shots, magazine tear sheets, runway fashion shows, catalog shoots, print ads, films and videos, both in color and black and white. Specializing in beauty makeup, Colleen does portraits and headshots for actors, musicians, Broadway stars, celebrities, news journalists, various entertainers, and corporate executives. She also enjoys working with private clients who need professional makeup for weddings and special events.
